The marina at Lake Mead. Notice the large open space to the left of the picture. Much of this would normally be flooded but a five year dry spell has cause the lake to be bout 50 feet lower than normal. Funny that droughts can occur in the desert. I thought that was standard fair for the desert.

The Colorado River Actually drains much of the Western US. So weather a 1000 miles away can effect Lake Mead.
